GFC has sent the following letter to Governor Newsom requesting a veto on AB 699:

Dear Governor Newsom,
On behalf of 500 members of the Govern For California Network who have signed the attached letter, we write to respectfully request that you veto AB 699 (Stefani).
In all instances, prices should be posted at the point of sale to properly inform customers before they make decisions. The same should apply with ballot measures for bonds or taxes. By removing fiscal effects from ballot measure labels, AB 699 would blind voters to the costs of what they are being asked to approve.
In 2019, you vetoed a similar bill, SB 268 (Wiener). The concerns you expressed in your veto message at that time are no less valid today. Therefore, we ask that you veto AB 699 on the same basis. Thank you for your consideration.
