No election this fall is more important than the contest for Insurance Commissioner. That’s because virtually every family, business, and non-profit depends to some extent upon the availability of affordable insurance, but affordable insurance is hard to find in California. The reasons for that market failure are best explained in an informative blog hosted by Patrick Wolff, whom GFC endorsed for IC in the primary election. After losing in the primary, Patrick endorsed Ben Allen for the general election, and GFC is proud to do the same. As Patrick explains here, a victory by Allen’s opponent, Jane Kim, would reduce the availability of affordable insurance.
