All Eyes On San Francisco

While there wasn’t much on the statewide ballot yesterday, there was plenty on the San Francisco ballot and the results look to be a resounding endorsement of that city’s vibrant ecosystem of political philanthropies. Most impressive to me is that, thanks to the efforts of organizations such as Neighbors For A Better San Francisco, TogetherSF, GrowSF and Abundant SF, pragmatists have taken the lead in 21 out of 24 races for the Democratic County Central Committee, which is the governing body of the SF Democratic Party and effectively a shadow government, but there were also successful ballot measures, as you can read about in The San Francisco Standard. Activists interested in effective political philanthropy can learn a lot from the examples being set in San Francisco.
